Join fellow authors in Hereford for an informal meeting on 20 September 2019 from 11.30am at Hereford Library.
We'll be joined by author Marsha O'Mahony who will talk about her new book River Voices: Extraordinary Stories from the Wye, which explores Victorian and early 20th century life on the River Wye.
In the summer of 2017, a team of interviewers travelled up and down the Wye in Herefordshire, recording the experiences of the people who have lived and worked on the river, or simply been drawn to its waters in search of recreation or a jam jar of minnows. A wealth of memories of a much-loved river were uncovered, teeming with often startling tales and peopled by a rich assortment of characters, many long-gone. Stories, photographs and artefacts have been gathered together in River Voices and preserved, and the voices of the 'ordinary' men and women of the Wye now have their place in the history of the river.
Please email to let us know you'll be coming along.
