START AT THE BEGINNING

I was born in Cork at the beginning of that heady decade - the sixties. My student years were spent at Trinity College Dublin studying (some of the time) Mathematics and Economics and rounding up with a teaching diploma. In 2012 I left my work with The Institute of Physics and founded 21st Century Renaissance (the publisher of The Visual Time Traveller) - a movement dedicated to using original design combined with writing to influence, change, and raise debate across a wide section of society. My belief is that an educational system must enable young people to become compassionate, clear, imaginative thinkers and life long learners.

BOOK | EXHIBITION | TALK

Much of this has culminated in - The Visual Time Traveller: 500 years of history art and science in 100 unique designs - presented in a coffee table book, an exhibition and a talk. Covering 500 years since the Renaissance, 1000 facts are woven into a hundred graphic designs. Eye candy & brain food on every page - the ideal gift for that 'difficult to buy for' person in your life.

WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING?

"If da Vinci himself were here for his National Gallery retrospective, he might have nipped across to the other show [The Visual Time Traveller], if only to see how the 500 years of enlightenment he helped unleash on the world has turned out.” Frank McNally, The Irish Times.

"A beautiful, breathtaking account of human endeavour." Deirdre Conroy, Sunday Independent

AND NOW?

I live in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin close to the sea, but not quite as close as my first home (and love) – a place called Currabinny, on the south coast of Ireland.
