Is there anything better than telling stories? I'm fortunate that it's a skill I use in many works of life. I've written the Johnny Mackintosh science fiction stories (published by Quercus), and also a fair few music and entertainment TV shows (mainly Saturday night  ITV1 stuff). Not bad for someone with a degree in mathematical physics. I've published many popular nonfiction titles too and, as well as continuing to write, I'm currently senior science publisher for Oxford University Press. I'm told people refer to this kind of thing as "a portfolio career".

Press

I am happy to be interviewed over the phone, radio, TV. and via email. I have a particular specialty in science (mathematical physics and astronomy/cosmology) and am always keen to discuss how these subjects, and stories that use these subjects, can inspire young minds.  In my books I also try to engage "reluctant" readers through football.

Contact

I'm happy to be contacted via the Society of Authors in the first instance. If you're really desperate, you can doubtless also find me via the magic of Google...
