Catherine Fisher is a prize-winning poet and best-selling author of over 30 best-selling children's and Young Adult novels, including The Snow-Walker Trilogy, the Chronoptika Quartet, Darkhenge, Corbenic and the Relic Master Quartet. She has won the Cardiff International Poetry Competition and published four books of poetry.
Her novel, Incarceron was Times Children's Book of the year and a New York Times Bestseller; it has been translated into over twenty languages.
Catherine has worked in archaeology and as a teacher; she has taught Creative Writing to undergraduates, students and adults, and has tutored for the Arvon Foundation and the National Writing Centre for Wales, Ty Newydd.
She has won the Tir na nOg Prize and the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award, has been shortlisted for the Whitbread Books Prize, the Bram Stoker Award, the W H Smith Prize and been longlisted for the Carnegie Prize.
In 2011 Catherine was named as the first Young People's Laureate for Wales.
