Join us for the December meetup of SoA Authors South. 

There will be an organised ‘Meet each other’ activity in groups of 3 or 4, and then a general discussion of options for next year.

We have arranged the December meeting so everyone can have input to the plans.

The group needs some kind of organisational structure – ideally a committee of about 5 people to manage the detail and share the work of setting up meetings, so it does not become too onerous for one individual. Please think about whether you can volunteer to help. We will discuss this at the December meeting, if you would like to step forward, but can’t make that date, please email soa.south@gmail.com

Programme for 2018

When will we meet?

For starters, we suggest six meetings in 2018, alternate months, starting in February.

This is frequent enough for continuity, but it’s a manageable workload for setting up, and identifying speakers

Time of meetings is an issue. About half of you prefer evenings, about half prefer daytimes. No-one wants to travel in the rush hour. We therefore propose to alternate daytime/evening meetings, starting with daytime in February. We need your advice whether to go for lunchtime, or afternoon.

The SoA can help identify speakers but some ideas for discussion –

• Authors in schools
• Authors and small businesses
• Writing and publishing short stories
• Self publishing
• Writing online/self promotion
•
