Please join us for the October meeting of the Gloucestershire group with a talk on organising local book festivals from guest speaker, and Costa Book Award winner, Jamila Gavin. We will be meeting at 12 noon for lunch followed by speaker - finish at 2.30.
Jamila Gavin is a local author of children's and young adult fiction, her novel Coram Boy, won the Whitbread Book Award (now the Costa Book Award) in 2000, she has a canon of novels and stories to her name. She is also Artistic Director of the Stroud Book Festival, which ran for the first time in 2016 and is on again 2-5 November. She will talk to us about the joys and sorrows of organising a local book festival.
